KARACHI: Pakistan International Trade
Fair (PITF 2017) organized from October 26 to 29, 2017 at Karachi Expo Centre,
closed with the Gala Night “Uroos ul
Bilaad – Tales of Mystical Beauty”. The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of
Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and Badar Expo Solutions who jointly organized
the international fair have kept this entertaining night for their foreign
delegation and business community comprising of Fashion show and Concert.
The
Fashion show comprised of MahaRaja themed collection where eminent designers of
Pakistan’s fashion industry including Deepak Perwani, Wardha Saleem, Humayun
Alamgir, Ayesha Ibrahim & Shazia Kiyani showcased their collections. The
fashion show was followed by Gala dinner. The Designer Collection details are
as follows:
DEEPAK PERWANI
Showcased his collection “BAHAAR” which indicated the arrival of spring and the
festive season of weddings as a major part of our culture. The sub-continent
has not just defined art music and fabulous cuisine but has given us the
greatest gift of opulence costume fashion and lifestyle. Tonight, we present a
little glimpse into the world of royalty.
WARDHA SALEEM
THE MUGHAL EMPRESSES showcased by Wardha Saleem's is
reminiscent of that classic era. A heritage, a legacy, a collection for the
ages, the "Mughal
Empresses" stands true
to the history of the royals and unravels the
secret colors of love, traditions and celebration.
Inspired by our
rich and vibrant heritage, Wardha Saleem blends the bright hues of fuchsia,
radiant oranges, vibrant greens, lustrous blues, passionate plums and rich reds
in her own signature style. Using traditional block and screen printing
techniques along with intricate embroideries and rich embellishments using
pearls, gemstones and Swarovski crystals, Wardha Saleem reveals the celebration
that lies hidden within these vibrant colors on the canvas of rich jamawars,
pure silks, and organza.
HUMAYUN ALAMGIR
Humayun’s
inspiration behind his collection “NAQSH-O-NIGAAR” was from Maharajas of the
Sub-Continent. They were characterized by luxurious styles and made with
velvet and banarsi Brocade. The sherwanis are a combination of elegance
and sophistication of yesterday and Dynamism and Naqsh of today. The collection
also defines the rich colors of modern sherwanis and cuts at the same time both
eastern and traditional.
SHAZIA KIYANI
MUMTAZ MAHAL by Shazia was an exclusive blend of royalty
and traditional fashion with unique color schemes. Her work depicted a strong
sense of inspiration from the rich eastern culture combined with royalty of
rich Mughal era. Arjumand Banu widely known by the epithet Mumtaz Mahal was a
Mughal empress and chief consort Shah Jahan, this collection is all about the
life of queen Mumtaz.
The designers focus is use of traditional techniques in a
classic way which can be seen with new cuts, different type of embellishment
& classic silhouette kept in mind with old traditional & classic
work. Color palette is also very traditional and royal use with hues of
red and gold.
AYESHA IBRAHIM
Ayesha’s JASHN-E-AROOSI is a
Persian language word for “Wedding
festive", even for people of limited economic ability they would do
their best to make it memorable. Jashn-e-Aroosi has always been a grand
celebration. The collection is a mix of long gowns, Angrakhas, short shirts, tail
Gharara’s lots of princess cut lehenga's. The collection is embellished with
crystals Swarovski, zardozi, Resham embroidery, French knots and ruby jewelry
stones.
The color pellet varies from hues of beige, navy blues, maroons, buzz and lots of silver on various fabrics such as silk, tissue, cotton nets and shantley nets. “Jashan-e-Aroosi" is not a collection, it’s an experience. Usually a bride is wrapped in traditional colors, but our bride is different because she chooses unique rich patterns embellished in bold and soothing colors to make a style statement of her own.

The event is being directed and choreographed
by Hassan Riaz, make up and styling by Angie Marshal and team, while PR of the
