Online payment system introduced at QICT


KARACHI: Qamar Alam and S.M. Munir handing over the memento to Chief Executive DP World Junaid Zameer after the completion of first consultative meeting at FPCCI.

KARACHI: Qamarul Islam, Chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee on Ports and Terminal  conducted the first Consultative Meeting in which Junaid Zameer, CEO, D.P. World attended as guest of Honor and S.M Muneer as cheif guest at the Federation House here.
Qasim International Terminal is going to extend its online payment system soon this was disclosed by Junaid Zameer, CEO, DP World during his Electronic Presentation. He elaborates the short comings of Manual System, that manual payment process carried multiple problems for all stake holders involved in each transaction;adding that the payment of duties and taxes in cash at QICT terminal was one of the biggest issues for Customers and their Agents.
Earlier, Qamarul Islam in his welcome address appreciated the D.P. World efforts on presentation of some Traders regarding excess Billing and now agreed charges he said that Traders are paying T.H.C and other charges to shipping agents but the same are reflecting in Bills of Terminals as well Terminals are charging Scanner Infra-Structure Charges without any service of Scanning which should be eliminated. He said that containers scanning was not provided but the terminal was collecting scanner and infrastructure charges from traders which should be eliminated with immediate effect.
Arshad Jamal in his address said that APCAA is always in contact with Terminals and we are resolving trade related issues to facilitate the Trade & Industry on reducing dual time and cost of doing business.
S.M. Muneer, former Chairman TDAP appreciated the efforts of APCAA and especially Arshad Jamal & Choudhry Amjad, that they are true representatives of Service Sector and he appreciated their role at FPCCI. 
Later Junaid Zameer  along with his team Muhammad Rizwan, Fasih & Najam give a detail presentation, informed that Port Qasim is the biggest Terminal of Pakistan and in two decades they expanded the area of terminal and trying to facilitate the Trade operations. 
He said we acquired  32 Acres of land from Port Qasim Authority for Truck Parking area in order to introduce virtual queening system, which will help in fast and efficient delivery of cargo. He informed his vigorous efforts of faster and he digitization and automation, enhancing the transparency and empowerment.
He further said that DP World is the first terminal that has developed and successfully agreement the electronic delivery order system there by reducing the transaction time with real time transfer information, No doubt, it's our pride that 32% of Pakistan's imports is carried out through DP World.
