FSA officers briefed on FPCCI role
KARACHI: A group of
twenty- six Foreign Service Officers headed by Ambassador Iftekhar Aziz, DG FSA
visited FPCCI on 24th October 2017 for an interactive session, says a Press
release.
Dr. Iqbal Thaheem,
Secretary General of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry
briefed the participants about the role and function of the FPCCI in the
economic and trade development of Pakistan. They were also informed about the
economy of Pakistan and policy requirement for sustainable growth under the
changing scenario.
They were also
briefed about export and trade pattern and its likely movements in post GSP
plus and also remove the apprehension of the participants on Brexit
implications on Pakistan trade. He also informed that how commercial activities
are correlated with law and order situation. Dr. Iqbal Thaheem told that trade
agreements by Pakistan are remain unfavourable and FPCCI has been recommending
reconsideration and renegotiation. He also briefed the participants on
investment scenario especially investment and employment opportunities that
would be emerging with CPEC.
The participants of
the 37th Specialized Diplomatic Course held a questions and answers session
with FPCCI.
The visit concluded
with the vote of thank to the FPCCI by the Ambassador Iftekhar Aziz, Director
General Foreign Service Academy.
